COLUMBIA Larry C. Kauffman, 71, died Thursday, May 1, 2014, at Lancaster General Hospital. He was the husband of Julia A. "Judy" (Myers) Kauffman. Born April 19, 1943, in Hellam, he was the son of the late Charles H. and Meda V. (Michael) Kauffman. Larry was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. He was formerly employed as a service engineer for Fincor. He was a member of the Eastern High School Class of 1961, Kreutz Creek VFW Post 7045, the Hawk Gunning Club, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #307 of Columbia, and current commander of Abel-Poff-Leithiser American Legion Post 469 of Wrightsville. In addition to his wife, Larry is survived by two daughters, April Smith of Hellam and Donna Hake of Dallastown; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, H. Eugene Kauffman of York; two sisters, Linda Crist of Wrightsville and Karen Haines of Yorkana; and nieces and nephews. Following cremation, private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
