ZELLWOOD, FL Margaret Linton, 83, passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2013. Born on September 16, 1930, in Akron, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Wendelin A. and Goldie B. (Covey) Porta. Her family moved to York when she was a toddler. Margaret was owner/ operator of Kling's Crown Gas Station from 1969 to 1972 and Kling's Sunoco (later to become Linton's Sunoco Mini Mall) from 1972 to 1984. In addition to her loving husband, Columbus H. (Chris) Linton, she is survived by six children, David E. Kling and wife Brenda of York, Diane M. Kling Makofsky and husband Steven of Satsuma, Fla., Daniel E. Kling Sr. and wife Mary of Wrightsville, Debra M. Kling and partner Charles Dickensheets Jr. of York, Donna Jean M. Wagaman and husband Frank of York, and Darlene M. Hershey and partner David Wueschinski of Wellsville. Also siblings, Merton Porta of Marietta, Mary Ann Knoke of Rogers, Ark., Rose Ann Martfeld of Lowell, Ark., and Nancy Rang of Hanover; twenty-four grandchildren; and twenty-five great-grandchildren. Along with her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by nine siblings. She sang and played guitar from a very early age and loved karaoke, in which she participated until becoming ill. Loomis Funeral Home, Apopka, Fla., is in charge of the arrangements. After cremation, a private service will be held in York at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, since death occurred in October, donations may be made to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
