Buckingham YORK Oscar W. Buckingham, 64, died Tuesday, February 12, 2013, at his home. He was the husband of Nancy L. (Ritchey) Smith Buckingham. A visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at West York Church of the Brethren, 5101 Darlington Road, York. A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. at the church with the Rev. Omer King officiating. The John W. Keffer Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 902 Mt. Rose Ave., York, is assisting the family. Mr. Buckingham was born August 6, 1948, in York, a son of the late Joe and Betty Jane (Wagner) Buckingham. He was a 1966 graduate of Central York Senior High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of VFW post 556. He had been a truck driver with Consolidated Freight, and retired from Kinard Trucking. Oscar is survived by his wife; a son, Craig W. Buckingham and wife, Vicki of Las Cruces, N.M.; grandchildren, Josef W. Buckingham and Julia S. Buckingham; brothers and sisters, Donna Zeager, Joe Buckingham and wife, Kathy, Rose Boyer and husband, Charles, Tommy Buckingham and wife, Faye, Jay Buckingham and wife, Roxanne, and Cathy Hayes and husband, Bill; and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to West York Church of the Brethren Mission Fund, 5101 Darlington Road, York, PA 17408. KefferFH.com
