YORK Paul A. "Poppy" Breneman, 72, passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at Manor Care- North. Paul was the husband of Patricia A. (Kiel) Breneman. Paul and Pat celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary on September 26. 2013. Paul was born in York, to his parents, the late Raymond A. and Ida Viola (Lecrone) Breneman. He graduated from Spring Grove High School in 1960 and Penn State University in 1963. Paul worked for the Pfaltzgraff Co. for 23 years and then worked for the Pennex Aluminum Company for 10 more years and retired in 2009. His first love was his grandchildren! "Poppy" loved spending time with them and teaching them new things. Paul was always busy doing something! If it wasn't working on his John Deere tractors, then it would have been his work in the church, cub scouts, or his men's clubs. Paul was an active member at Advent Lutheran Church, Shiloh Lions Club (member and Past President), the Viking Athletic Association, and the Menges Mill Steam Association. Paul also loved his work in the Cub Scout organization. He was the Committee Chairperson for the Scout Pack 140 Shiloh. In addition to his loving wife, Pat, Paul is survived by a son, Kevin P. Breneman of York; a daughter, Lesli A. Willoughby and partner, Lori Ackors, and her children, Sarah and Robert Ackors, who loved "Poppy" dearly; three grandchildren, Chris A. Breneman, and Cody A. and Laura A. Willoughby, all of York; and a sister, Ardella L. Bentzel and her husband, Ralph of Thomasville. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2014, at Advent Lutheran Church, 1775 E. Market St., York. A viewing will be held in Owen's Hall from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. The Rev. Brenda M. Ritterpusch will officiate. Following the service, a luncheon will be held for family and friends. Burial will follow at St. Paul's Wolf's Church Cemetery at 2 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Shiloh Lions Club Foundation for Fighting Blindness Fund c/o Lee Woodmansee, Treas., 2625 Winemiller Lane, York, PA 17408; or Advent Lutheran Church, 1775 E.
