LEBANON Paul E. Nace, Sr., 93, died on Wednesday, August 14, 2013, at the Lebanon VA Medical Center, where he had been residing for the past three years. Born in Marietta, he was the son of the late Curvin E., Sr. and Jennie Roberts Nace. Paul was a trainer and racer for standard bred horses. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during in WWII. He served in the European Theater of Operations and took part in the Battle of the Bulge, where he was a recipient of the Purple Heart. Surviving are a son, Paul E. Nace, Jr. of York; a daughter, Rose Smith of Keating Summit, Pa.; grandchildren, Jody Way, Kelly Kline, Robert Helm, Steven Helm, and Kate Helm; great-grandchildren, Sgt. Brandon Way USMC, Shane Way, Matthew Horn, Brian Horn, Gretyl Helm, Megan Helm, Robert Helm, Stephanie Helm, and Jennifer Helm; great-great-grandson, Aiden Way; brother, Robert Nace of Columbia; and sister, June Buller of Mt. Joy. He was predeceased by brothers, Curvin Nace, Jr. and Leo Nace; and sisters, Margaret Grunden, Kathryn Pointer, and Betty Bair. Funeral services for Paul will be held from the Clyde W. Kraft Funeral Home, Inc., 519 Walnut St., Columbia, on Saturday, August 24, 2013, at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Al Frank officiating. There will be a viewing from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The family requests that flowers be omitted.
