YORK Philip J. Genovese, 48, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 12, 2014, and entered into the presence of our Lord. Born November 16, 1965, in Lancaster, he was a son of Antonino and Mickina (Roda) Genoese of Conestoga. He currently was employed with Goodwill Industries and prior to that had worked for many years in the food court at the York Galleria Mall. He was a member of Faith and Truth Assembly in Thomasville and was very active in the York County Special Olympics as well as the York College Best Buddies Program. In addition to his parents, Philip is survived by a brother, Francesco J. Genoese and his wife, MaryEllen, of Lancaster; and two sisters, Antonia Hinnenkamp and her husband, Larry, of Lancaster and Maria Elisa "Lisa" Fulmer and her husband, Chris, of Conestoga. He will also be lovingly missed by his nieces and nephews, and cousins Giuseppe and Donna Genoese, and their sons. His life will be celebrated on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., 863 S. George St., York. His pastor, the Rev. Melvin Flosser, will officiate the services. Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. Private burial will be in Saint Joseph New Catholic Cemetery, Lancaster. The family wishes to thank Philip's many caregivers throughout his life for all their kindness, respect, and attention to his needs, most recently the physicians and staff at York Hospital and Wellspan Surgery and Rehabilitation Hospital.
