RED LION Ray "Paps" Elicker, 68, entered into rest on Monday afternoon at his residence. He was the husband of Margaret F. (Clark) Elicker for over 40 years. He was born August 20, 1944, in York, the son of the late Ray S. and Phyllis (Lippy) Elicker. Ray was a U.S. Marine veteran of the Vietnam War having received the Naval Accommodation for Valor. He worked for over 30 years at Caterpillar and retired in 1998. He then went on to enjoy a great deal of time fishing and visiting with friends in Ocean City, Md. He was a member of the Dallastown American Legion, Red Lion VFW and the Victory Club. Following cremation, a visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at the John W. Keffer Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 902 Mt. Rose Ave. A procession will form after the visitation for a graveside service at Prospect Hill Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. with full military honors by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Including his wife Margaret, Ray is also survived by a daughter, Shonna M. Hackett of Severna Park, Md.; two grandchildren, Colin and McKenzie; a sister, Raetta M. Thomson and her husband, Barry; two nephews, Barry Lee and wife, MaryEllen and Mike Thomson, all from York. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial gifts be sent to the Robert Packard Center for ALS Research at Johns Hopkins, 5801 Smith Avenue, McAuley 110, Baltimore, MD 21209 (ATTN: Hackett Clan/Fiesta 5k) or to "THE HACKETT CHILDRENS' IRREVOCABLE TRUST" and mailed directly to The Hackett's at 450 Severnside Drive, Severna Park, MD, 21146.
