NEW FREEDOM Robert C. "Bob" Schlaline, Sr., 83, died Wednesday, September 18, 2013, at York Hospital. He was the husband of June D. (Gettle) Schlaline. Bob and June celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on June 6, 2013. Funeral Liturgy Thursday, September 26, at 11 a.m. from St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 315 N. Constitution Ave., New Freedom, with the Rev. Joshua R. Brommer officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Born January 28, 1930, he was the son of the late Edward and Emma Pauline (Funk) Schlaline. Bob was a veteran, having served with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He retired in 1988 following 26 years of service with the then GTE of York as a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor. Bob was then employed with the former Glen Rock State Bank as a courier until 1998. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church of New Freedom. In addition to his wife, June, he leaves a daughter, Paula Hufnagel of New Freedom; four sons, Mark E. Schlaline of New Freedom, Robert C. Schlaline and his wife, Joanie of Freeland, Md., Andrew L. Schlaline and his wife, Julie of Stewartstown, and Peter T. Schlaline and his wife, Beth of Stewartstown; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Barbara Ann McGuire of Venice, Fla. Bob was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Schlaline.
