YORK Robert P. "Bob" Myers, 74, died Tuesday, January 7, 2014, at York Hospital. He was the 40 year companion of June I. (Frey) Sipe. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the convenience of the family. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York, is in charge of arrangements. Born December 11, 1939, in Newberrytown, he was a son of the late Paul Myers and Florence Taylor. He graduated 1st in his class from Dover High School with the class of 1958. He was employed with Sports World Marine as their general manager for 20 years. A member of the Red Lion V.F.W and National Rifle Association, he also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and boating. He played guitar for the Country Ramblers, Bob Myers & The Rockets, and later with High Country, and for 10 years he performed as an Elvis impersonator. In addition to his companion, Mr. Myers is survived by two daughters, Judy Bleacher and husband, Curt of Windsor, and Janet Reisinger of Manchester; one stepson, Richard Sipe of Red Lion; one stepdaughter, Terry Longo and husband, Steve of Red Lion; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one step half sister, Connie Brown of Florida; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one half brother, Pfc. Terry Taylor, and one sister, Betty Swavely.
