YORK TWP. Roy M. Parker, 92, died Monday, Janaury 20, 2014, at Manor Care Kingston Court. He was the husband of Marie E. (Englar) Parker, who died in 2006. They were married 54 years. Roy was born on July 14, 1921, in Persia, Tenn., son of the late John R. and Christi Parker. He retired in 1983 as a mechanic from Ben's Motor Homes in York. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. Roy was a member of the 503rd Parachute Infantry Division. They were the first paratroopers to jump in combat. He was a life member of the Hellam VFW and the Victory A.A. The service and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Roy is survived by two daughters, Pat Weaver and husband, Lonnie of York, and Jody Wix and husband, Mark of Laurel, Del.; a son, Dennie Raver and wife, Dolly of York; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Christine Striebig; a great-grandson, Zachary Miller; a brother, William H. Parker; and six sisters, Anna Mae West, Ruth Tunnel, Fanny Hawkins, Ruby Daurherty, Ina Bullington, and Eva Camper. Memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, 4219 Trindle Road, Camp Hill, PA 17001. Arrangements entrusted to the John W. Keffer Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 902 Mt.
