YORK Thelma Virginia (Utz) Armold, 81, was ushered to Heaven by the Lord's angels on Saturday, June 14, 2014, from the York Hospital. She was the wife of Richard H. Armold, with whom she shared 64 years of marriage. Born on December 4, 1932, in York, she was the daughter of the late Beatrice and John Utz. She was a waitress at the Sunflower Restaurant for 37 years. Thelma attended St. John's Lutheran Church in earlier years. She belonged to the VFW Ladies Auxiliary of East Berlin. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Richard; a son, Terry Armold, wife Pat; four grandchildren, Russell Conley, Matthew Armold, wife Tracy, all of York, Eric Armold, companion, Dana, of Dover, Jason Armold, companion Jessica, of York; 12 great-grandchildren, one on the way; two step-great-grandchildren; a brother, Jacquez "Jack" Utz, wife Noreen, of York; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Armold Conley; brothers, Charles "Chuck" Utz, Terrance "Terry" Utz. A viewing will be on Thursday, June 19, 2014, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Gladfelter Funeral Home, Inc., 822 E. Market St., York. The Celebration of Life Services will begin at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Roland Garvin of Calvary U.M. Church officiating. Interment will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Gladfelter Funeral Home, Inc. is entrusted with the arrangements.
