YORK Trabert R. Ahrens, 89, died Saturday, March 16, 2013, at his home. He was the husband of Gloria M. (Markel) Ahrens, for 64 years. The service and burial will be private. The John W. Keffer Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc. 902 Mt. Rose Ave., is assisting the family. Mr. Ahrens was born July 21, 1923, in york a son of the late Lewis and Pansy (Frey) Ahrens. A Real Estate Appraiser, he belonged to the National Association of Realtors, and the York County Realtors Association. He he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII and was a member of the American Legion and the VFW. Trabert is survived by his wife; a son, Malcolm B. Ahrens and his wife, Deborah of Glen Carbon, Ill.; a grandson, Eric C. Ahrens and his wife, Stephanie of Edwardsville, Ill.; great-grandchildren, Christopher and Emily Rose; a sister, Phyllis Campbell and her husband, Jack of Aiken, S.C.
