YORK William A. Kahler, Jr., 95, entered into rest Wednesday, August 27, 2014, at Autumn House West. He was the husband of the late Esther R. (Snowberger) Kahler. A viewing will be 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday at John W. Keffer Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 902 Mt. Rose Ave., York. The funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. R. Wayne Lynch officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Rose Cemetery with a flag folding presentation by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Mr. Kahler was born May 6, 1919, in York, a son of the late William A. and Myrtle (Greene) Kahler. He was a member of Stillmeadow Church of the Nazarene and was employed as a Power Plant Control Man at Harley Davidson, Inc. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a Purple Heart recipient. William is survived by two sons, Nelson H. Kahler and his wife, Sharon, and James L. Kahler and his wife, Debra; six grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. He was precdeded in death by a son, William A. Kahler, III.
