MARION, MT William C. "Bill" Vanover, 90, died Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at his home in Montana. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm on Wed., July 30 at J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 19 S. Main St., Stewartstown. A graveside funeral service will begin at 11 am Thurs., July 31 at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, S. Highland Dr., Shrewsbury with full military honors by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Rev. Dr. Peggy Click will officiate. Born February 24, 1924, Bill was a son of the late David F. and Lizzie E. (Mayne) Vanover. He proudly served his country as a U.S. Marine during WWII and was awarded the Purple Heart. Bill was a lifetime member of the NRA. He is survived by four daughters, seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions in Bill's name may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675; or to Home Options Hospice, 275 Corporate Dr. #600, Kalispell, Montana 59901.
