RED LION William H. "Bill" Triplett, 95, died Thursday, May 3, 2012, at his residence. He was the husband of the late Audrey V. (Smith) Triplett. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 9, 2012, with a viewing from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion. Certified Celebrant Betty Frey will be officiating at the service. Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery in York with full military honors by York County Veterans Honor Guard. Bill was born in York, on July 8, 1916, son of the late Ayler and Sadie (Roser) Triplett. He was the co-owner/operator of Triplett Brothers Vending Company and the owner and operator of several local bar/restaurants, including Banks Hotel, Washington Hotel, and the Triplett Inn. He was also a truck driver. Bill served in the U.S. Army in WWII, where he was awarded a Bronze Star, serving in Italy, France, and Germany. Bill was a life member BPO Elks Club #213, West York VFW, Viking Athletic Association, and the Victory Athletic Association. He was the President of York County Tavern Association from 1976-1977. He owned racehorses and was a Thoroughbred Handicapper and an avid hunter. Bill leaves a sister, Elizabeth Criswell of Phoenix, Ariz., and numerous nieces and nephews. Three brothers, Worthington, Lawrence, and Kelly Triplett, had preceded him in death. Memorial contributions may be made to York County Veterans Honor Guard, P.O.
