Diana and Karl...of course there are no words that are sufficient at a time like this...life here can be so shocking and hard. Alicia was truey a beautiful young woman and most importantantly child of God. I am so grateful that you taught her in the Lord and have the knowledge that she is with Him now. It is likely no consolation now..I can not begin to imagine your pain...please know that you are in my heart and prayers and thoughts...I hate I am so far away, but please dont hesitate to call if you need to talk. Alicia was so blessed to have such amazing parents as you two.

Alicia was my daughter's roommate at Messiah College. She was a lovely young lady with a beautiful smile who loved God's creation and the LORD. She always took the time to chat with me when I visited the college. My daughter had many wonderful times with Alicia, but wishes she could have had more. One of her favorite times with Alicia was when they went swing dancing. I don't always understand why God allows things to happen, but I know that one day I will see Alicia again, and that she is now enjoying the presence of her Heavenly Father. I am sorry that we will no longer have the pleasure of her company here, and I will be praying for her family. What great parents to have raised such a beautiful Christian young woman. All of Alicia roommate's are tremendously overwhelmed not only by the loss of a fellow friend and student, but by someone they came to know and love.

Exactly a year ago, Alicia arrived with her parents in Michigan to take classes at the Au Sable Institute for Environmental Studies. She was so quiet on that first day... but Alicia gradually opened up and showed her adventurous spirit. I know I speak for everyone at Au Sable when I say that we are shocked and devastated with the loss of Alicia and we have her family and friends on our hearts and in our prayers. Praise the Lord, for He has welcomed her home.

I'm deeply sorry. We have been reading, in the online course that Alicia was taking, Lewis' Last Battle where he talks about this life being the title page of our life, perhaps you would like to read what she read just in the last week. Lewis gives joy and communicates such felt knowledge with stories--when I read these words in his story it penetrates more deeply than theology alone. God be with you.

Karl, Diana and Denny: Words cannot express the heartfelt grief that I feel for your family at the sudden loss of Alicia. Why do bad things happen to good people? That question may never be answered. May it comfort you to know that your faith will help you to get through this terrible time in your life and this awful tragedy. Alicia's life was cut short way too soon, but I can't help thinking that God must have wanted another angel, so he chose Alicia to help him in heaven, and to help look after her Grandmother. When I first met Alicia, I was intrigued by her calm, quiet nature; her obvious intelligence; and her striking beauty. When I first met Alicia, she emmitted a unique, tranquil essence that made me realize that there was something very special about this young lady. When I first met Alicia, I couldn't help but feel that this smart young woman was destined to do great things. It is devastating to find out that her life was cut short. But in that short life, she most certainly did many great things. My heavily saddened heart goes out to you; Karl, Dianna, Denny and your family; during this intensly painful time, and I wish you my most sincere condolences. And thank you so much Karl and Dianna, for giving me the honor and privilege of meeting, and having known your wonderful daughter, Alicia.
