YORK Barry Luther Schriver, 79, passed away on Monday, March 24, 2014, at home, surrounded by his loving family including his wife, Anna Mae, his son, Brian, and his daughter, Tracy. Mr. Schriver was born September 22, 1934, in Manchester. A 1952 graduate of Manchester High School, Barry continued his education at Penn State University where he graduated in 1956. Following college, he served as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force from 1957-1959. After his service in the military, Barry was employed by International Paper Company in York Haven, followed by his employment with IBM as Marketing Manager for 32 years, retiring in 1991. An active member of the community, Barry was a faithful member of Starview U.C.C., where he served in many capacities including President of Consistory. He was a member of the Susquehanna Lions Club since 1961, where he served for 53 years, including as past secretary and president. Additionally, Barry volunteered as a tax-aid for AARP for more than 15 years and volunteered with the York County Area Agency of Aging. The son of the late Florence (Dietz) Schriver and Luther Schriver, Barry is survived by his wife of nearly 58 years, Anna Mae (Bentz) Schriver; his son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Amy of Parkton, Md.; his daughter and son-in-law, Tracy and Rob Richards of Apex, N.C.; and five grandchildren including Benjamin, Luke, and Elizabeth Schriver, and Reid and Ty Richards. Friends and relatives are invited to call on Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 87 S. Main St., Mount Wolf, and on Monday, March 31, 2014, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. A memorial service in celebration of Barry's life will be held on Monday beginning at 11 a.m. at Starview U.C.C., 4832 N. Sherman St., Mt. Wolf, PA 17347.
