YORK Barry Ray Hengst, 70, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2013 at York Hospital. He was the husband of the late Elizabeth (Heisler) Hengst. Barry was born on August 24, 1942, in York, the son of Geraldine E. (Hartman) Miller and the late Preston E. Hengst. Barry graduated from Dallastown Area High School in 1960 and attended Susquehanna University. He was a 4 letter athlete at Dallastown and played football at Susquehanna University. He served in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Barry was involved in the automobile business for over 30 years and was a salesman for the former Stuben Motors and Griffith Cadillac. He was a member of the Codorus Church of the Brethren. In addition to his mother he is survived by his sister, Donna L. Harbold and her husband Thomas, and his niece and nephew. The family will receive friends at the Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, Inc., 104 W. Main St., Dallastown, on Thursday from 6 to 7 p.m. with a memorial service beginning at 7 p.m. Pastor Rick Fishel will be officiating. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the (York County) Memorial Fulfillment Center, 777 Penn Center Blvd., Suite 200, Pittsburgh, PA 15235.
