FORKSVILLE Bertha M. Hamilton, 65, formerly of Spring Grove, passed away on Monday, July 16, 2012, at York Hospital. She was the beloved wife of William E. Hamilton, Sr., who passed away in 1996. Bertha was born in Hanover, on August 4, 1946, and was the daughter of the late Alice M. (Yohe) and Ervin M. Hoover. She graduated from Spring Grove High School class of 1964. After graduating, she married her husband, William, in 1965. She worked at Jennings Country Store in Estella for many years. She also attended Lincoln Falls Wesleyan Church. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and cherished the time she spent with her family. Bertha is survived by her son, William E. Hamilton, Jr. and wife, Shelia of Cowpens, S.C.; her daughters, Karen L. Hamilton of Jersey Shore, Tammy S. Savage and husband, Matthew of Muncy, and Alicia M. Pedro and husband, Eddy of Mildred, Pa. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren, Brandon, Kelcey, Dakota, Eric, Kirsten, Dori, and Nicholas; two great-grandchildren, Brianna and Brandon, Jr.; her sisters, Judy Yohe, Debra Helm and husband, Jim, and Shelva Hoover; and many nieces and nephews, She was predeceased by her brother, James Hoover. A funeral service in celebration of her life will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. at Irwin-Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service PC, 175 N Main St., Spring Grove, with Elder Robert Yohe and Elder Steve Fodor officiating. She will be laid to rest following the service next to her husband at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens in York. Viewings will be held on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Friday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
