HARRISBURG Bertie E. Blazer, 96, formerly of Manchester, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at Spring Creek Nursing Facility in Harrisburg. She was married for 53 years to the late Crist Blazer, owner of Blazer Plastering. Bertie entered this world on April 23, 1917, and was one of ten children born to the late John and Lillie (Craig) Biller. Born in Shenandoah Valley, Va., at an early age she moved with her family to York County living in a number of locations, such as, Rudytown, Bahl-Hill, and Lewisberry. She was a long time member of Paddletown Saint Paul's United Methodist Church in Newberrytown. Through Bertie's life she loved reading her bible and loving and caring for her family. In later years, she enjoyed playing BINGO, making bracelets and necklaces at Spring Creek. She was also a member of Manchester Assembly of God Church and the Mount Wolf Senior Center. Mrs. Blazer is survived by her daughter, Helen L. Wells, and her husband Miles, of Middletown; a son, Donald C. Blazer of Canton; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Minnie Dugan of Manchester. Bertie, "Mom, Grandma, Meme" touched so many lives in her wonderful life. All her friends that knew her and her family are blessed for having her in their lives. She is loved so very much and is now at rest with her Lord. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday at William E. Little Funeral Homes, Inc., 60 S. Main St., Manchester, with her pastor, The Rev. Thomas Gilman, officiating. Viewing will be 10 to 11 a.m. Burial will be in Paddletown Cemetery, Newberrytown.
