YORK Carl W. Billet Jr., 58, passed away Monday, February 25, 2013, in the Hershey Medical Center. He was born March 14, 1954, in Red Lion, to Carl W. and Sara Spangler Billet of Red Lion. A graduate of York County School-Technology in 1972, Carl was employed by Motor Technology of York and was a member of the York County Racing Club. Carl loved to race late model cars, had 33 years in racing and was the 2012 Champion at the Susquehanna Speedway. With 182 Feature wins and 26 consecutive years with Feature wins, Carl also had 18 track championships at various speedways. He was inducted into the York County Racing Hall of Fame in 2005. Building his own race cars and woodworking were his favorite past times. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Dana A. (Dunkle) Billet; two sons, Steve (Krystina) Billet of Manchester and Chad Billet of York Haven; and three daughters, Capri (Joe) Fisher of York, Stephanie (Christopher) Parks of North Carolina and Christine Billet of York Haven. Carl has two step children, Whitney Fickes of Enola and Josh Fickes of Newville; three grandchildren; and nephews, Ryan and Aaron Billet. Also surviving are three brothers; Mike of Red Lion, Kevin (Cindy) of York and Mark (Kristyn) Billet of Dover; three sisters, Cindy (Phil) Rohrbaugh of Wrightsville, Carla (Greg) Reniker of Red Lion, and Becky (Dean) Bauknight of Landisville; and many nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are being handled by the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt. Holly Springs, PA 17065.
