PARKTON, MD Carroll C. "Flash" Neal, 82, died November 4, 2013, at York Hospital. A viewing will be held 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, November 9 at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 20901 Mt. Zion Road, Freeland, Md. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 9 at the church, officiated by the Rev. Dennis Schulze. Burial will be in Mt. Zion United Methodist Cemetery. Mr. Neal was born July 15, 1931, in Freeland, Md., the son of the late John W. and Dora Bella (Noe) Neal. He was the husband of Jackie (Lyons) Neal. Carroll was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, Freeland, Md. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Carroll retired in 1984 from the Baltimore County Police Dept. after 26 years of service. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, New Freedom V.F.W. Post #7012, and a life member of Parkton American Legion Post #256. He was an avid lover of blue grass music and played bass and guitar in the "Friday Night Garage Picker Band." Carroll and his wife Jackie celebrated 56 years of marriage this July. He was a devoted grandfather and enjoyed time with his grandchildren. Mr. Neal is survived by two sons, Glen Neal and his wife Lory of Freeland, Md., and Scott Neal and his wife Cammie of Stewartstown; and six grandchildren, Wyatt, Amanda, Dalton, Clayton, Dylan and Keira. He was predeceased by a daughter, Glenda S. Peacock, four brothers, and a sister. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Zion United Methodist Church (Mission Fund), 20901 Mt.
