MOUNT WOLF Charles E. King, 93, passed away at 2:30 p.m. Friday, January 11, 2013, at the home of his daughter. He was the husband of the late Florence J. (Wagner) King. Charles was born February 5, 1919, in York County, and was the son of the late Harry and Lizzie (Knaub) King. He worked for New York Wire, Heilig's Wire Cloth, and St. Regis Paper Company before retiring in 1984. He was a member of Starview United Methodist Church in Starview. Charles is survived by his daughter, Linda Pepo and her husband, Glenn of Dover; his two grandchildren, Glenn Pepo, Jr. and his wife, Janine of Dover, and Daniel Pepo of Dover; his great-granddaughter, Paxton Pepo of New Holland; his three brothers, LeRoy King of York, William King of York, and Frank King of Dover; and his two sisters, Dorothy Runkle and Louella Noel, both of York. Charles was preceded in death by his brother, Jacob, and his sisters, Mary Schroeder, Leah Hoffmaster, and Beatrice King His funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 15, 2013, at The Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 87 S. Main St., Mount Wolf. Viewings will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, both at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Jacob's Union Cemetery in New Salem. Officiating at the service will be Pastor Jeffrey Wilt from Starview United Methodist Church and Pastor Thomas Schroeder.
