HELLAM Clair W. Snyder, Jr., 78, died Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at the York Hospital. He was the husband of Jeanne M. (Smith) Snyder. Clair and Jeanne observed their 60th wedding anniversary on January 31, 2013. Clair was born in Spring Grove on September 9, 1934, a son of the late Clair W. Snyder, Sr. and Tillie I. (Sweitzer) Snyder. He was a 1952 graduate of William Penn Senior High School. He was employed by AMP, Inc. of Harrisburg as a Development Engineer for 37 years. Clair was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ of Hellam, Hershey Antique Automobile Club and the Jeepster Club. He had many interests including kayaking, sailing, working as a tinsmith and his 1950 yellow Jeepster car. In addition to his wife of 60 years, he is survived by four children, Deborah L. Cox of Newport News, VA, Robert M. Snyder and wife Doreen of Morrisdale, Jennifer C. Leitzel and husband Galen of York, Amy L. Druck of Hellam; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and a brother, Thomas A. Snyder and wife Angie of Phoenix, AZ. A funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 12, 2013, at Trinity United Church of Christ, 200 E. Market St., Hellam. Officiating will be his pastor, Rev. Kelly Shifflet. Burial will be in Kreutz Creek Cemetery. A viewing will be 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Organ Fund of Trinity UCC, 200 E.
