DOVER Connie Michalak, 84, died Friday, December 21, 2012, surrounded by her family, at Memorial Hospital after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was the wife of the late Stanley Michalak to whom she had been married 56 years. Connie was born September 25, 1928, in Gostevico, Poland. She was the daughter of the late Rolek and Anna (Goreyk) Lis. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and a former member of the White Rose Polka Club. She was a housewife and an avid gardener. A viewing will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. on Thursday, December 27, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 231 S. Beaver St., York, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial starting at 10 a.m. officiated by the Rev. Samuel Houser. Burial will be at Suburban Memorial Gardens. John W. Keffer Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., West York, is in charge of arrangements. Connie is survived by her daughters, Stella Gobrecht of Hanover, Julia Mummert of Harrisburg, and Janet Thomas of York; her sons, Walter, Nicholas, and Jerry Michalak, all of Dover; 15 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren; and two sisters in Poland, Maryia Moudoukoc and Rozalia Kubocka. She was preceded in death by two infant daughters; one infant son; a daughter, Sophia Robbins; and two grandchildren, Jod and Gina Gobrecht.
