Donald L. Seifert Sr. Obituary
YORK Donald Lee Seifert, Sr., 74, entered into the presence of God on Sunday, January 12, 2014 from the York Hospital. Born on April 27, 1939, in York, he was the son of the late Jeanette (Strickler) and Lester A. Seifert. Mr. Seifert retired from truck driving after 42 years, he was employed by Aero Energy and Getty Oil. He attended Bible Baptist Church and was a member of Transport for Christ. Don was a volunteer at the York Fair and an employee at the Agriculture Building. He belonged to the Bluegrass Association and was an avid animal lover. He attended baseball games in the area, especially the Revolution games. He was an avid race fan, especially at Susquehanna Speedway. "Pop Pop" as he was fondly called by his grandchildren enjoyed being with his family. He leaves to cherish his memory a son, Donald "Tank" L. Seifert, Jr. of York; daughters, Donna Weaver of Newport, Cindy Glackin of Glen Rock; the mother of his children, Bernadine L. (Doyle) Silar of York; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Steven Lynn Seifert; a life partner, Kathy Glackin; a grandson, Josh Conley; and two daughters, Penny Conley and Sherry Glackin. Don was a giving man, even in death, he was a "Gift of Life Donor". The Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, January 17, 2014 at 3 p.m. at the Gladfelter Funeral Home, Inc., 822 E. Market St., York, with a visitation one hour prior. Pastor Brian King of Bible Baptist will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue, Inc., No Kill Shelter, P.O.
