STEWARTSTOWN Dorothy A. "Dot" Massung, 86, formerly of McKeesport, died Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at Barbara J. Egan Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Shrewsbury. Viewings will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, February 3, 2013 at J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 19 S. Main St., Stewartstown, and from 12 noon to 1 p.m. Monday at Stewartstown United Methodist Church, 26 S. Main St., Stewartstown. The funeral service will be 1 p.m Monday at the church with Pastor Larry W. Parlett officiating. Burial will be in Round Hill Cemetery, Cross Roads. Born February 7, 1926 in Lincoln Place, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Agnes (Ohm) Johnson. Dorothy was a member of St. Martin de Porres Church, formerly known as St. Mary's German Catholic Church in McKeesport. She began working for the Leggett's Drug Store in Homestead, Clarks Candy Factory, Pittsburgh, Lofstrom's Dairy in McKeesport and was a former Night Manager for Buteras Foodland. She later retired from Rite Aid Pharmacy. She attended Stewartstown United Methodist Church. Dorothy enjoyed time spent with her family at home and caring for her dog, Buddy. She liked playing Bingo, crossword puzzles, caring for her house plants and was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Pirates. Dorothy is survived by a daughter, Carol Jones and her husband Thomas of New Freedom; a son, Ron R. Massung and his wife Sherri of White Oak; two grandsons, Ron A. Massung and Matthew Jones; one granddaughter, Amy Jones; one great-grandson, Jacob Massung; one sister, Marie Brogan; and one brother, Robert Johnson. She was predeceased by three brothers, Charles, Jim and Ray Johnson. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Barbara J. Egan Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, LSS Foundation, "Garden Fund", in memory of Dorothy Massung, 200 Luther Road, Shrewsbury, PA 17361.
