Dorothy L. Brindley

Dorothy L. (Brodbeck) Brindley, 84, entered into rest at 9:25 p.m. on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at SpiriTrust Lutheran The Village at Sprenkle Drive. She was the wife of the late Gerald F. Brindley.
Born March 13, 1933 in York, Dorothy was a daughter of the late Ralph Brodbeck and Dorothy (Kreiser) Brodbeck Wildasin.
She had 40 years of service as a seamstress for York Casket.
Dorothy was a member of Dover Bethany United Methodist Church in Dover. She volunteered at the Union Fire & Hose Company No. 1, Dover and the Dover Food Bank. She enjoyed sewing and gardening.
Dorothy is survived by two grandchildren, Jason A. Lingg and wife, Jenna and Melissa S. Blymire and husband, Douglass, all of Dover; three great-grandchildren, Jocelyn Lingg, Dakota Lingg and Jerin Firth; and two brothers, Theodore Brodbeck and wife, Bonnie of Dover and Terry Brodbeck and wife, Shirley of Spring Grove. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Karen S. Lingg; a sister, Bertha V. Martz; and a brother, Paul Brodbeck.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Dorothy's funeral at 11 a.m. and the viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Dover Bethany U.M. Church, 4510 Bull Rd., Dover. Burial will follow in Dover Bethany Cemetery. Officiating will be her pastor, the Rev. Salvatore Buonocore. Emig Funeral Home, Dover, is serving her family.

She was one of the sweetest ladies around. Sorry to see she passed. We talked one afternoon about her york casket memories, since both of my parents work there. She will be missed.

Dottie was a loving and caring friend, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother. She was always looking for a way to advance the kingdom of God. Sewing dresses for Iraqi children and helping in any way she could at the church. If we all could be as faithful as she was, what a wonderful world this would be. But, she is now with her husband, daughter, friends, Jesus and the thief on the cross having a joyful time.
