RED LION Dorothy V. (Harvey) Zeigler, 91, entered into eternal rest after a lengthy illness on Thursday, July 25, 2013, at 9:28 p.m. at Victorian Villa in Dallastown. She was the wife of Curtis E. Zeigler, Sr. who entered into rest on January 18, 1989. Born in Delta on July 28, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Helen C. (Smith) Harvey. Dorothy worked at the former Stewartstown Sewing Factory for 30 years then went to work at Superior Mold for many years and then retired in 1982 from Fincor Electronics. She was a longtime active member of Winterstown UM Church, where she assisted with communion, Bible School and was a part of starting up the Cub Scouts, Brownie's and Girl Scouts at the church. She also served as a leader with the girl scouts and brownies. She was a former member of Winterstown Fire Company Ladies Auxillary and a member of the 83 campers club of York County. She and her late husband founded the Old Stone Hedge Campground in New Bridgeville. Dorothy loved camping, traveling and spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Surviving are four children, Yvonne Z. Lauer (Richard L.) of Red Lion, Curtis E. Zeigler, Jr (Linda) of Red Lion, Judy A. McWilliams (Ray) of Red Lion and Richard E. Zeigler (Michelle) of Dallastown; 10 grandchildren, Tim Lauer, Lori Smith, Mark Lauer, Wendy Baublitz, Chad Noll, Nicole Rook, Lisa Zelger, Doug McWilliams, Rick E. Zeigler, Jr and Tiffany Poe; 20 great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Schott of York; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Gift; and a brother, Richard Harvey. There will be no viewing. Cremation will take place with Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. Family and friends are invited to extend their condolences on Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. at Winterstown UM Church, 12184 Winterstown Road. A Memorial Service to celebrate Dorothy's life will begin at 10 a.m. at the church, with the Rev. David D. Tietje, pastor of St. John's UCC, officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in Winterstown UB Cemetery.
