PARKTON, MD E. DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER, THE SERVICES FOR MRS. ERICKSON HAVE BEEN RESCHEDULED: Virginia (Danmyer) Erickson, 89, died Wednesday, December 4, 2013, at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Clarence M. Erickson and the late Henry A. Danmyer. There will be a viewing from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. on MONDAY December 9, 2013, at J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom, and from 10 to 11 a.m. WEDNESDAY at Hereford Baptist Church, 9 Mt. Carmel Road, Parkton, Md. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. WEDNESDAY at the church with Pastor John J. Brown officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Born May 31, 1924, in Glencoe, Md., Virginia was the daughter of the late Daniel F. and Caroline E. (Ryan) Leight. Virginia was a lifelong country music entertainer. She was a member of the former Senior Moments Band, a longtime member and officer of various Rebekah Lodges in Maryland, and the Hereford Baptist Church. Virginia was a former member of the Hereford Maryland Volunteer Fire Company Womens Auxiliary. She is survived by a son, David A. Danmyer of Catawba, N.C.; daughter, Barbara Jean Francis of Manchester; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three stepdaughters along with numerous other relatives and friends. Virginia was preceded in death by her grandson, Chad E. Francis.
