YORK Elaine Marie Pritchard, 82, passed away January 25, 2014, in York, surrounded by her loving family. Viewing will be held at Keffer Funeral Home, 902 Mt. Rose Avenue in York on Thursday evening, January 30, 2014, from 6 to 8 p.m. with prayer service by Deacon Neil Crispo at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church - York, on Friday, January 31, 2014, at 11 a.m. with Fr. Mark Carter celebrating. Viewing will also be held at the church prior to Mass from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Born on October 10, 1931, in Rumford, Maine, Elaine was the daughter of the late Arthur and Lucienne Arsenault. Raised in York County, Elaine graduated from York Catholic High School in 1949. She shared 63 years of beautiful marriage with her loving husband Jack Pritchard. Their Mason-Dixon love affair began after a chance meeting at Elaine's parents' restaurant / truck stop in Shrewsbury, and led to their wedding day on April 15, 1950. Together they brought six children into the world. Family always came first for Elaine throughout her life and she cherished the time she had with her loved ones. She will forever be remembered as a loving, gentle and kind woman who was totally devoted to her family and friends. A woman of great faith, Elaine was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, York, where she was active in FIAT, Women of Grace and WINGS women's groups. Her many interests included arts & crafts, ceramics, sewing, knitting, crocheting, flower arranging, gardening and reading. Elaine is preceded in death by her parents, Lucienne and Arthur and daughter Laurie. Elaine is survived by her spouse, Jack Pritchard; daughters, Roberta Tripp and Catherine Richards of York ; sons, Michael Arthur Pritchard of York, Timothy Pritchard of Red Lion, James Pritchard of Red Lion; and her cherished 13 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren; sister, Gloria (Osolnick) of Bradenton, Fla.; and brother, Donald Arsenault of Red Rock, Ariz. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff of Manor Care Kingston Court for their support in her final days. In lieu of flowers, it was Elaine's wish that memorial donations be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2935 Kingston Road, York, PA. KefferFH.com
