YORK Elsie R. Gibbons, 84, died at 2:10 a.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at Manor Care Health Services North. She was the wife of the late Paul A. Gibbons, Jr. Born December 30, 1929, in York, a daughter of the late Charles and Hattie (Drescher) Fuhrman, she was a life member of West York VFW Post #8951 Auxiliary, and had been a Girl Scout Leader and PTA President. She was also a member of Christ Lutheran Church. Mrs. Gibbons is survived by two daughters, Renee L. Stambaugh of Thurmont, Md., and Rhonda L. Conway and her husband, Chris, of York; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters. A graveside service is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Friday, March 14, 2014, at Greenmount Cemetery. Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., 863 S. George St., York, is in charge of arrangements.
