YORK Elwood C. "Woody" Lartz, 61, of Springettsbury Township, died Wednesday, October 16, 2013, at Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Cathy L. (Ott) Lartz. Woody and Cathy observed their 15th wedding anniversary on August 29, 2013. Woody was born in York on August 23, 1952, a son of the late Earl Eugene and Pauline A. (Bailey) Lartz. He was a billing clerk for Henkles & McCoy where he worked for over 40 years. Woody loved to golf, play softball, bowl and especially cook. He looked forward to traveling with his wife all over the world. He enjoyed spending time in his garden with his wife and grandchildren and his beloved dog Dink. He was a 1970 graduate of York County School of Technology. His memberships include 12th Ward Democratic Club, Delphia AA, York VFW Post #556, and Pleasureville American Legion Post #799. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Corey Messinger and wife Justine of Manchester; two daughters, Alyssa Stambaugh and husband Dan, and Nikki Lartz, both of York; five grandchildren, Devin Gottwalt, Chase and Jordan Messinger, and Madelyn and Olivia Stambaugh; and two brothers, Robert Lartz of York and Lester Lartz of Fayettville, NC. A viewing will be from 10 a.m. to 12 noon Saturday, October 19, 2013, at the Etzweiler Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1111 E. Market St., York.
