Frederick E. Lehman, 90, died on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at Providence Place, Dover.
He was the husband of Jo Ann Hauke (Landis) Lehman. The couple was united in marriage on October 26, 1947, sharing 69 years together.
Frederick was born in York on May 21, 1927, son of the late Frederick and Wilhelmina (Ruesskamp) Lehman.
Frederick was a graduate of York High School, Class of 19M45 and also received his Associate's Degree from York Junior College in 1968. After high school he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and proudly served aboard the USS Bennington in the South Pacific during World War II. He was the Route Supervisor for Rutter's Dairy for 23 years before joining the non-foods merchandising department of P.A. & S. Small. Fred completed his career in merchandising at AWI, retiring in 1992. He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in York and he had a great passion for golf. Fred especially treasured his annual golf trips to Myrtle Beach and Pinehurst with his golfing buddies. He belonged to the Shiloh American Legion Post 791 and was a Life Member of the West York VFW Post 8951.
In addition to his wife, Frederick is survived by three sons, Fred R. Lehman and his wife, Jan of York, Donald S. Lehman and his wife, Debbie of York, and Robert E. Lehman and his wife, Debbie of Manchester; four grandchildren, Eric Lehman, Esq. and his wife, Dr. Kimberly Lehman of Clarksville, TN, Katie and her husband, Ryan Brady of McSherrystown, Todd Lehman and his wife, Kelly of Jacksonville, FL, and Heath Lehman of Manchester; two great-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; a brother, Dr. Donald R. Lehman and his wife, Dr. Elyse B. Lehman of Williamsburg, VA and Surry, ME; a sister-in-law, Bonnie (Landis) Brown of Annapolis, MD; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 4, 2017 at the Etzweiler Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, 1111 E. Market St., York, with the Rev. Dr. B. Michael Brossman and the Rev. Roland E. Garvin officiating. There will be a visitation on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service in Manchester Union Cemetery with military honors by the York County Veteran Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 924N Colonial Ave, York, PA 17403 or to the York County SPCA 3159 Susquehanna Trail North, York, PA 17406.

So sorry to hear about Fred's passing. I enjoyed working with him at The UPS Store for a few years. He would always tell interesting stories of his milk man days. He will be missed!
