YORK Geneva C. Senft, 82, entered into eternity with Jesus at 10:47 p.m. on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at York Hospital surrounded by loving family members. She was the loving wife of the late Elmer T. Senft. Born October 14, 1931, in York, she was a daughter of the late Harvey and Elmira (Neiman) Shaffner. The youngest, she was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Ervin Shaffner, Helen Gembe, Wilbert Shaffner, Charlotte Miller, Mildred Shewell, Eva Wilt, and Paul Shaffner. Geneva was a lifelong member of Dover Bethany U.M. Church. She was a homemaker, accomplished seamstress, and member of Shiloh Garden Club, an outreach of her love for gardening and flower arranging. Anyone who saw her backyard was amazed at the beauty of the design of the flowers she tended with loving care. She was also a member of the York Art Association, an outreach of her love of painting. She started singing as a teenager with her nieces, Betty Gerber and the late Shirley Bupp, and they continued singing praises to the Lord until they were no longer able. For the past 20 plus years the trio sang their Gospel music at various churches and social functions as the Gloryland Singers and were accompanied by Evelyn Wueschinski, pianist. In the last few years she enjoyed attending and singing at the Jam at the Church of the Open Door, Shiloh. Geneva's greatest love was for her family. She was a wonderful, loving mother who put aside her own needs for her children. Geneva was a fantastic cook and is famous for her homemade pies. She is survived by three daughters, Elaine D. Hughes and husband, Eric of Mount Wolf, Rose M. King and husband, Dave of Glen Rock, and Melinda K. Mineer and husband, Larry of Las Vegas, Nev.; a stepson, Daryl E. Senft and wife, Paula of Spring Grove; three grandchildren, Shawn King and wife, Amy of Colorado, Brandon Slaney of West Hartford, Conn., and Michael Slaney of Laredo, Texas; two step-grandchildren, Chad Senft and wife, Elizabeth, and Melissa McCleaf; four step great-grandchildren, Christian Senft, Cameron Senft, Taylor Senft, and Tori McCleaf; and a step-great-great-grandson, Austin Senft. She is also survived by her former husband, the father of her three daughters, Richard C. Feeser of Colonial Heights, Va. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Geneva's celebration of life memorial service on Saturday, April 19, 2014, at 10 a.m., receiving visitation with friends and family from 9 to 10 a.m., at Dover Bethany U.M.
