George R. Besecker Obituary
RED LION George R. Besecker, 69, passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2013 in Springettsbury Township. He was the husband of Carol V. (Owens) Besecker with whom he celebrated 29 years together. Mr. Besecker was born October 26, 1944, in York, the son of the late Richard A. Besecker, Sr. and Ellen C. Eline Besecker. He was a retired superintendent with Kottcamp Sheet Metal, a life member of both the Victory A.A. and Hawks Gunning Club, and a member of Dallastown American Legion, Liberty Firemen's Social Club and Sheet Metal Workers Local 19. In addition to his wife he is survived by two stepsons, Donald T. Yohn of York and Brian M. Yohn and wife, Lilian of Soda Springs, Calif.; and an aunt, Frances E. Besecker of York. He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard A. Besecker, Jr.; and a sister, Laura J. Fuhrman. Viewing will be from 9 to 11 a.m. on Thursday at Workinger Semmel Funeral Homes & Cremation, Inc., 849 E. Market St., York. The service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Eddie D.D. Miller, retired UM pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the York County SPCA, 3159 N.
