NEW FREEDOM Gloria M. Heindel, 70, died Saturday, February 2, 2013, at LifeCare Hospitals of Mechanicsburg. She was the wife of Earl E. Heindel, Jr., with whom she would have celebrated 50 years of marriage on March 28, 2013. There will be a viewing from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Wednesday, February 6, 2013, at Bethlehem Steltz Reformed Church, 5890 Steltz Road, Glen Rock. The funeral service will begin at 12 p.m. Wednesday at the church with the Rev. John C. Dorr, Jr. officiating. Interment will be in New Freedom Cemetery. Born November 23, 1942, in Freeland, Md., Gloria was the daughter of the late Paul H. and Edna F. (Calp) Bollinger. Gloria retired in 2006 from the former Southern Die-Caster, Inc. in Shrewsbury. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in New Freedom, Weight Watchers Tuesday morning group at the Hampton Inn in Shrewsbury, Rose Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary in New Freedom, and the Austin L. Grove American Legion Post 403 Ladies Auxiliary in Glen Rock. Gloria enjoyed baking cookies and cakes. Several times a year she would make care packages of baked goods and vegetables from the garden for family and friends. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a brother, Ronald Bollinger and his wife, Kay of Freeland, Md.; sister-in-law, Doris Shaffer of Shrewsbury; and nieces, Karen Sanders and Kathy Miles. She was preceded in death by her cousin, Kenneth Bollinger. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Gloria's name may be made to Bethlehem Steltz Reformed Church, 5890 Steltz Road, Glen Rock, PA 17327. The J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom, is in charge of arrangements.
