RED LION Harold E. Francis, Jr., 78, passed away at his home on Monday, November 5, 2012. He was the loving husband of Donna M. (Grove) Francis for 59 years. Harold was born on January 22, 1934, in Dallastown. He was the only child of the late Harold E. and Martha R. (Daugherty) Francis, Sr. He graduated from Dallastown High School in 1951 and was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean Conflict. Harold was employed by Cole Steel of York and spent most of his life as a car dealer for over 40 years with Grimm Pontiac-Buick of Red Lion and Greenwalt's of York. Most recently he was a school bus supervisor for Red Lion Bus Company for 12 years. Harold was a 50+ year member of the Bethlehem "Stonepile" United Methodist Church in Red Lion and a past member of the American Legion Post #605 in Dallastown. He spent his retirement years enjoying Penn State football, NASCAR, and spending time with his family. Harold was preceded in death by his son, Scott L. Francis, in July 2012. He is survived by his wife, Donna; a son, Chad E. Francis, his wife, Tracey, and granddaughter, Michaella C. of State College; granddaughters, Kristy M. Francis of Red Lion and companion, Rafael Berrios, and Stephanie J. Tipton of Red Lion; great-granddaughters, Brittne, Haylee, and Kylee, and a great-grandson, Dustin, all of Red Lion. He is also survived by uncles, Paul and Dean Daugherty; several cousins; a brother-in-law, Raymond Grove; and a sister-in-law, Brenda West. Visitation and viewing will be Friday, November 9, 2012, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. with a service to follow at 11 a.m. at the Bethlehem "Stonepile United Methodist Church, 250 Bethlehem Church Road, Red Lion 17356. Pastor Thomas Osenbach will officiate. Following the service, Harold will be laid to rest at the Susquehanna Memorial Gardens in York with full military honors by the Honor Guard of the American Legion Post #605, Dallastown. Following the committal service, the family would like to invite guests to the church for a time of fellowship and refreshments. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethlehem "Stonepile" United Methodist Church, 250 Bethlehem Church Road, Red Lion, PA 17356. The Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, Inc., 104 W.
