MANCHESTER Harold Z. Shuler, 74, of Manchester, passed away at 10:05 p.m. Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at Colonial Manor Nursing Home in York. He was the husband of Karen F. (Brenneman) Shuler, whom he married 56 years ago on November 16, 1957. Mr. Shuler was born February 5, 1939, in Harrisburg and was the son of the late Harold and Dorothy (Firestone) Shuler. He was employed as a truck driver for the former P.A. & S Small, which later became Flemming Foods, and a bus driver for F. & S. Transportation in Mount Wolf. He also was employed by the former International Paper Company in York Haven. He was a member of the Wago Club, Starview Sportsman Club, Hawk Gunning Club, Viking Club, Susquehanna V.F.W. Post 2493 in Mount Wolf, West Manchester Township Farmers and Sportsman Association, and Susquehanna Fire Company in York Haven. In addition to his wife Karen, Harold is survived by his son, Scott Shuler of York Haven; his three daughters, Kim Myers of York Haven, Dawn McCandless of Mount Wolf, and Ann Kennedy of Boise, Idaho; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; his brother, Paul Clouser of Manchester; and his three sisters, Roseanne Frye of Dover, Glenda Brown of Manchester and Christi Stoppard of Mount Wolf. Mr. Shuler was preceded in death by a son, Harold "Rick" Shuler. Mr. Shuler's viewing will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, January 17, 2014 and 10:30 to 11 a.m Saturday, both at the Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 87 S. Main St., Mount Wolf. His service will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 18, 2014 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery in New Cumberland. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Steve Forry.
