YORK Harry C. Bonsell, 76, died on Friday, October 26, 2012 at 12:15 p.m. at his home. He was the husband of the late Ruth M. (Chronister) Bonsell who died on January 3, 2007. There will be no viewing per Harry's request. Following cremation with Workinger-Semmel F.H. & Crematorium, Inc., 849 E. Market St., York, there will be a graveside service at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 3, 2012, at Greenmount Cemetery. Chaplain Peter Ogilvie with Compassionate Care Hospice will officiate. A procession will form at 9:15 a.m. at the main entrance to the cemetery. Mr. Bonsell was born April 21, 1936, in Altoona, the son of the late Harry L. and Susan (Goetz) Bonsell. He had been employed by Standard register, was a machinist for 30 years with Caterpillar, and a truck driver with both AG Chemicals and Maple Donuts. He was a graduate of William Penn H.S. Class of '54, a Marine Corps veteran serving during the Korean War, and a member of the Hawk Gunning Club, Viking A.A. and the former York Moose Lodge. Mr. Bonsell is survived by a sister, Judith Smith of Niceville, Fla.; a niece, Peggy Lauer and husband John of Gettysburg; a nephew, Bryan Ruth and wife Robin of Spring Grove; and several additional nieces and nephews.
