COLUMBIA, MS Howard M. Baughman, 91, formerly of Lewisberry, passed away Monday, December 23, 2013, in Mississippi. He was born January 28, 1922, in Steelton, the son of the late Charles F. and Anna M. (Mitchell) Baughman. Howard attended the Steelton High School and served in the Army during WWII from 1941 to 1945. He worked for the Harrisburg Steel Co. and retired from the Bethlehem Steel Co., working in the Steelton plant for over 35 years. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Bettie R. (Hill) Baughman; four sons, Fredrick of Chula Vista, Calif., Paul and his wife, Joann of Lewisberry, Tom of Lancaster, and David and his wife, Tamy of Lemoyne; and three daughters, Ruth Wolfe and her husband, Colin of Wellsville, Esther Poff and her husband, Herbert of Columbia, Miss., and Sarah Bartlett and her husband, Richard of Columbia, Miss. He also leaves behind six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Howard was preceded in death by two daughters, Marie Baughman and Jane Johnson; one son-in-law, Richard Johnson; four brothers, Faber, William, Arthur, and Warren; and three sisters, Fleta Pilsitz, Elsie Militics, and Alma Treon. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Columbia, Miss., and a former member of the Pinchot Park Assembly of God, Wellsville, and the Pinchot Park Lions Club. Services will be held Monday, December 30, 2013, at 1 p.m. in the Cocklin Funeral Home, Inc., 30 N. Chestnut St., Dillsburg. Burial will follow in the Tri County Memorial Gardens with full military honors. A viewing will be held Monday 2 hours prior to the service.
