HALLAM Janet E. Myers, 72, died Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at her residence. She was the wife of Glenn E. Myers. Janet and Glenn observed their 48th wedding anniversary on January 1, 2013. Janet was born in Halifax, on July 25, 1940, a daughter of the late Earl and Arlene (Etzweiler) Weaver. She was the former tax collector for the Borough of Hallam and the former owner of Janet's Antiques and Gifts in Hallam. Janet was a 1958 graduate of Halifax High School. She served as the dispatcher for the former Kreutz Creek Ambulance Association. Janet was a member of Locust Grove United Church of Christ and past president of the Kreutz Creek Lioness Club. In addition to her husband, Janet is survived by two sons, Brian E. Myers and Bradley E. Myers and wife, Michele, all of York; a daughter, Michelle E. Burton and husband, Maurice of Etters; one granddaughter, Londyn A. Burton; and two sisters, Dolores Miller of Halifax and Joyce Ernst of Harrisburg. A funeral service will be Monday, January 7, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Locust Grove United Church of Christ, 1035 Locust Grove Road, York. Officiating will be her pastor, Pastor Kent Rhodehamel. Burial will be in Locust Grove Cemetery. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service in the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Locust Grove U.C.C., 1035 Locust Grove Road, York, PA 17402.
