YORK Jared "Red" "Sandy" S. Klepper, 74, passed away Friday, March 14, 2014, at the York Hospital. He was the husband of the late Carol A. (Hall) Klepper. Mr. Klepper was born in Dover on September 16, 1939, son of the late Norman R. and Virginia O. (Miller) Klepper. He was employed by various companies as a truck driver and CDL instructor, retiring after 40+ years of service. Jared attended Living Word Community Church, Red Lion. Memberships include, Zeredatha Lodge #451 Free & Accepted Masons, Lodge Council Chapter Consistory of Harrisburg 32nd Degree, Tall Cedars of Lebanon York Forest #30, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite of Harrisburg. and the Dover Fish and Game. Red had numerous interests such as hunting, fishing, crabbing, motorcycle riding and the casinos. He loved children and children loved him. He enjoyed socializing at Lee's Diner with his friends. His main passion was trucking. Survivors include a son, Spencer R. Klepper and his wife, Elizabeth of West York; a daughter, Sharon R. Kline of York; eight grandchildren, Joshua, Dylan, Seth, Benjamin, Kandice, Brandon, Derek and Lexi; three great-grandchildren, Silus, Emilee and Kennedy; four siblings, Karen Hileman of Brogue, Iona Klepper of Shiloh, Richard Klepper of Nev. and Terry Klepper of Tenn.; several nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by a son, Scott R. Klepper. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at the Leroy R. Leber Funeral Home, Inc., 2290 School St., York (Shiloh). Officiating will be Pastor Richard Hall of Calvary Baptist Church, York. Final resting place will be in Salem Union Cemetery, Dover. Viewings will be held Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. with Masonic Rites presented at 7 p.m. by Zeredatha Lodge #451 of York and Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American , 610 Community Way, Lancaster, PA 17603; or to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Southeastern Branch of the Central PA Office, 2028 State St., East Petersburg, PA 17520.
