Jean A. Jenkins Obituary
YORK Jean A. Jenkins, 82, entered into rest at 10:42 a.m. on Friday, November 30, 2012, at the Lutheran Home at Sprenkle Drive. She was the loving wife of Warren C. Jenkins. The couple celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on February 9, 2012. Born August 7, 1930, in Paradise Township, Jean was a daughter of the late Harry K. and Nora E. (Gerber) Stambaugh. She graduated from East Berlin High School in 1948 and from Harrisburg Nursing School in 1951. Jean was dedicated to her family and nursing, working at York Hospital and later, as a private duty nurse. She also enjoyed gardening. Jean was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in York and a 61 year member of the Harrisburg Nursing Alumni Association. In addition to her husband, Jean is survived by three children, Cathy Hill of York, Karen Kane of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and Mark Jenkins of State College; five grandchildren; and a brother, Elvin Stambaugh of Dover. She was preceded in death by a sister, Marian Stambaugh. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Jean's graveside service at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 4, 2012, at Paradise Union Cemetery, Thomasville. Officiating will be her pastor, the Rev. David Lovelace. Emig Funeral Home, Dover, is in charge of arrangements.
