YORK Jeffrey L. Shoff, Sr. entered into rest peacefully on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 9:40 a.m. at Lancaster General Hospital at the age of 60. He was born in Columbia on February 10, 1953 and was the son of the late Melvin and Miriam (Reichard) Shoff. Jeffrey worked at H&H Castings in York. He is survived by a son, Jeffrey L. Shoff, Jr. of Maryland; daughter, Shelly Shoff of Elizabethtown; one grandson; one great-grandson; six brothers and sisters, Nancy Scannapieco and husband Joseph of York, Rodney "Tucker" Shoff, Sr. and wife Jane of Red Lion, Darryl Shoff and wife Denise, Phyllis Nordsick and husband Curtis, Darlene Lighty and husband Walter, Sr., and Deborah Yeager and husband Robert, all of Wrightsville; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters, Eugene, Burnell, Wayne, Dale, Leroy, and Shirley Shoff. There will be a viewing from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. A Service of Honor and Praise for Jeffrey will begin at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. David D. Tietje, pastor of St. John's United Church of Christ, will officiate. Burial will be in Shoff's Cemetery in New Bridgeville. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be offered to American Kidney Fund, 11921 Rockville Pike, Suite 300, Rockville, MD 20852; or to York County SPCA, 3159 Susquehanna Trail North, York, PA 17406. In honor of Jeffrey's wishes, his family would like to ask everyone who will be attending his services to dress casual. Jeffrey was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed NASCAR, woodworking, and he loved flowers, birds and animals. He will be sadly missed by his children, brothers, sisters, and his many family members. Jeffrey is now peacefully at rest with his Lord and Savior.
