YORK Kathryn J. Bollinger, 93, entered into rest at 5:30 a.m. on Monday, February 18, 2013, at Manor Care South. She was the wife of John E. Bollinger, who died August 21, 2008. They were married 66 years. Born April 17, 1919, in Manchester Township, Kathryn was a daughter of the late Edward and Emma (Jacoby) Smyser. She was a graduate of William Penn High School and Thompson Business School. Kathryn worked as an Administrative Secretary for the Chaplain Services Department at York Hospital and previously, for WSBA radio station. She was a very active life member of Grace Lutheran Church of Roundtown. Kathryn enjoyed gardening. She is survived by three children, Jeffrey E. Bollinger and wife, Kim and Patricia J. Koerner and husband, David, all of York and Pamela S. Bollinger of Joppa, Md.; four grandchildren, Allison Koerner, Christopher Koerner and wife, Kelly, Benjamin Bollinger and Meredith Bollinger; two great-granddaughters, Erica Koerner and Kaitlyn Koerner; a nephew, Ronald Stough; and a niece, Linda Sentz. In addition to her husband and parents, Kathryn was preceded in death by a daughter, Christine Bollinger, and a sister, Margaret Wales. Following cremation, relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Kathryn's Celebration of Life service at 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2013, at Grace Lutheran Church of Roundtown, 498 Church Rd., York, PA 17402. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Officiating will be her pastor, the Rev. Stephen Yambor. Emig Funeral Home, Dover, is assisting with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Special Fund of Grace Lutheran Church of Roundtown, 498 Church Rd., York, PA 17402.
