NEW FREEDOM Kathryn L. Rohrbaugh, 100, died on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at Accolades in New Freedom. She was the wife of the late J. Russell L. Rohrbaugh. A viewing will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom. The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the mortuary with Rev. Michelle L. Whitlock officiating. Interment will be in New Freedom Cemetery. Born November 19, 1912 in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of the late Walter E. and Mamie (Russell) Rodeffer. Kathryn moved to the New Freedom area in January of 1917. She graduated from the former New Freedom High School in 1931 and married J. Russell L. Rohrbaugh in 1933. Kathryn retired from AMP, Inc. in 1975 and was previously employed by the former American Insulator in New Freedom. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in New Freedom for 88 years, volunteered for 20 years at the Shrewsbury Lutheran Home and was a long time homemaker. Kathryn recently celebrated her 100th birthday with over 100 family members and friends. She cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren and many longtime friends. Kathryn's family would like to express their sincere thanks to all her friends who visited her up until her passing. She will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and friend. Kathryn is survived by a son, David L. Rohrbaugh and his wife Clara M. of Shrewsbury; grandchildren, Mark D. Rohrbaugh and his wife Sandra M. of Red Lion and Christy L. Rohrbaugh of New Oxford; and four great-grandchildren. In addition to her late husband and parents, Kathryn was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia L. White; and sisters, Ruth Wolf and Dorothy Morcombe. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 603, New Freedom, PA 17349.
