DOVER Kenneth E. Wire, 102, entered into rest at 7:31 p.m. on Wednesday, October 23, 2013, at Autumn House East. He was the husband of the late Hazel V. (Paules) Wire. Born October 10, 1911, in York, he was a son of the late Harvey A. and Evelyn I. (Shellenberger) Wire. Kenneth was a plasterer and farmer. He was a member of Salem U.C.C. in Dover; 4-H Club; York County Beekeepers Association; Union Fire & Hose Co. #1, Dover; Dover Senior Center; Pennsylvania Nut Growers Association; Pennsylvania Wool Growers Association; and Adams County Electric Company. Kenneth was a former hunter who enjoyed growing nuts. He is survived by four daughters, E. Louise Morton of Tucson, Ariz., L. Jean Dellinger of Dover, Sandra M. Rumsey and husband, Glenn of Mount Wolf, and Joan S. Wilt and husband, Dennis of York; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Harold Wire of Dover; and a sister, Doris Sindlinger of York. In addition to his wife and parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by a daughter, Ruth M. Fitterling; a granddaughter; a great-grandson; and three sisters. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Kenneth's funeral at 10 a.m. and the viewing from 9 to 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 29, 2013, at Emig Funeral Home, 47 N. Queen St., Dover.
