SPRING GROVE LeRoy R. Hoff, age 68, passed away suddenly on Monday, December 31, 2012 at home. He was the loving husband of Peggy Ann (Becker) Hoff; together they shared over 45 years of marriage. LeRoy was born in York on January 22, 1944, and was the only child of Mary Jane (Baublitz) Hoff and the late Raymond B. Hoff. He graduated from Spring Grove High School class of 1962. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged. He worked for Verizon in York for over 30 years and I.B. Abel in York for over 10 years prior to retiring. He was also a longtime member of West York Church of the Brethren. He was an avid model train collector and loved his german shepherd, Romeo, and cherished the time he spent with his wife and family. In addition to his wife Peggy, he is survived by his mother, Mary Jane Hoff; his sons, Kenneth Hoff and his wife Erica and Daryl Hoff and his wife Samantha; his grandchildren, Allen Hoff, Kayla Kime and her husband Dennis, Amanda Hoff, Brandon Hoff, Jordan Hoff, Athena Benzel and Alex Benzel; and his great-grandchildren, Hailey Kime and LaRainya Turner. A funeral service in celebration and thanksgiving for his life will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Irwin-Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service P.C., 175 N. Main St., Spring Grove, with Pastor Brian R. Markle officiating. He will be laid to rest following the service at Marburg Memorial Gardens in Hanover. Viewings will be held on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
