QUAKERTOWN Lorraine R. Hinkle, 89, formerly of York, died Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at St. Luke's Quakertown Hospital. She was the wife of the late Thurman I. Hinkle. Born December 22, 1924, in Emmaus, she was the daughter of the late Clarence O. and Laura Mae (Ringer) Giering. Lorraine was an office manager for Rowana Girl, retiring in 1986. She was a 1942 graduate of Emmaus High School. She was a member of Locust Grove United Church of Christ, York Organ Club, and PA Dutch Club. Lorraine is survived by a brother, Willard and his wife, Ruth Giering of Quakertown; a stepdaughter, Victoria Stine of York; four stepgrandchildren, Brett Dennis, Celese Stonebraker, Darret Stine, and Denene Ritchey, all of York; and eight step great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 12, 2014, at 11:30 a.m. at Locust Grove United Church of Christ, 1035 Locust Grove Road, York, with Pastor Kent Rhodehamel, her pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Locust Grove Cemetery. A viewing will be held Monday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the church.
